I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While the location is fantastic with amazing views and just a short walk to the beach, my room in the basement was a bit dingy and way too hot. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which was a big plus. Unfortunately, the dining options were limited, and I found it inconvenient that I needed to book a time slot in advance for meals.

Rooms
5.0
My room was clean, but being in the basement made it feel a bit dingy. It also got unbearably hot without any circulating air, even though the bathroom was really nice with a great shower.
Service
9.0
The staff were excellent and very polite. They went out of their way to be helpful, and it felt like nothing was too much trouble.
Location
8.0
The location is absolutely excellent, with fantastic views and just a short walk to the beach. However, it was noisy on some nights due to local parties.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were a bit disappointing as many choices were pre-packaged, and you had to book a time well in advance for meals, which made it inconvenient.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were decent, but there wasn't anything that particularly stood out to me.

6.0/10

The hotel offered a fantastic location, just a short walk from St Ives and the beach. While the staff was friendly and attentive, the rooms really felt outdated and lacked essential amenities, making them less comfortable. Additionally, dining options had some bright spots, but overall it could use improvement. For the price, I expected a bit more in terms of comfort and facilities.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms felt quite basic and really need a revamp; they had a horrible outlook and the airless environment was not pleasing. The bathroom also lacked an extractor fan, making it feel less comfortable.
Service
8.0
The service was friendly and helpful; they provided clean towels and even sterilized our bottles. The staff really made us feel welcome.
Location
9.0
The location is excellent; it's close to the town center and has a path that leads straight to the beach. Just be cautious crossing the somewhat dangerous road.
Dining
6.0
Dining offered some good options, especially with the gluten-free toast available, but I found the overall experience a bit lacking in variety and quality, especially regarding the wine glasses.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were very basic and could use some enhancements to meet modern standards. There were limiting factors that made it hard to fully enjoy our stay.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The location was stunning and the staff was friendly, which made my stay enjoyable. However, the rooms were not as described, and the dining options could use some improvement. Overall, it offered a good value for the area, but there were definitely some areas that need attention.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were quite basic and not what I expected considering we paid for a full sea view, but unfortunately, we only had a partial view. The furniture seemed mismatched, and the bed was uncomfortable. Additionally, we overlooked a fire escape that could use a good clean.
Service
9.0
The staff was really welcoming and friendly, especially during breakfast. They made me feel at home, which I appreciated.
Location

The location is beautiful, offering stunning views over St Ives. It's a bit of a trek up a steep hill from the town, but it's only a 10-minute walk to the center.
Dining
7.0
The dining options were decent but could be improved. There was a good spread for breakfast, but I felt there could have been more variety.
Facilities

The facilities were okay, nothing luxurious, but they were functional and adequate for our needs.

The hotel has a beautiful location, which I'm sure looks stunning in the summer, and is within walking distance to charming St Ives and the amazing Tate gallery. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but I did notice a crack in ours. The staff were friendly and helpful, yet there could be a bit more accommodation offered. The dining experience was buffet-style and had a great selection, though 9:30 am as the last sitting feels a bit early when you're on holiday.

I had a mixed experience at Tregenna Castle. The rooms were spacious but unfortunately faced a high wall, and the lack of air conditioning made it uncomfortable. The service was friendly and attentive, especially during dinner at the restaurant, which was a highlight. However, the dining experience for breakfast could have been better, especially with the long wait and errors in our orders. Also, it was disappointing that the swimming pool was closed during our stay.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were very large, but they overlooked a tall wall that was very close to the window. The bathroom was tiny, and there was no air conditioning, which made it less ideal.
Service
7.0
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure we had a pleasant dining experience in the evening. However, there were noticeable delays in service during breakfast.
Location

The location had beautiful walks around the castle and lovely views, but the surroundings felt a bit run down, and there was quite a bit of outside noise.
Dining

5.2/10

The hotel is situated in a good location with easy access to the beach and town center, which is a definite plus. However, the room was quite standard and did not meet my expectations based on the website pictures, and I found the overall atmosphere lacking character, especially with the noise from large wedding parties. The service was friendly but left a bit to be desired in terms of efficiency.

Rooms
5.0
The room was quite warm and did not have a working bathroom extractor fan. The decor was very standard, and it felt a bit bland compared to what I expected from the website.
Service
6.0
The staff were lovely and polite, especially Geoff, but I found the service generally lacking as I had to ask about the most basic things.
Location

Dining
5.0
The breakfast was quite self-service and not very hot, which was disappointing.
Facilities

The 'gym' facilities were quite limited, with just a single treadmill and a few machines, which was not at all what I expected.

The hotel is well-located, offering amazing views and a generally comfortable atmosphere. The rooms are a decent size but could use some updating, and the service is mixed, with some staff being friendly and others a bit dismissive. Dining could definitely be improved, especially the breakfast selection, which left a lot to be desired. Overall, it provides reasonable value for the price, but not without its drawbacks.

6.2/10

My stay was quite the mixed bag. While the location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach and town, the rooms were underwhelming and definitely needed improvement. The service was attentive and friendly, but the dining experience left a lot to be desired with limited options. For the price paid, I expected more comfortable accommodations.

Rooms
5.0
I was on the first floor with a tiny window that overlooked another room, so I had to keep the curtain closed all the time. There was no storage aside from a small cupboard, making it feel like I was living in a dorm room. The decor was dated with cheap linoleum floors, which made it feel overpriced for what I got.
Service
8.0
The staff was really helpful and friendly, always trying their best despite being stretched thin. They checked us in promptly and even greeted us by name at meals, which made for a nice personal touch.
Location
9.0
The location was fantastic, very central and within walking distance to both the beach and restaurants. It’s perfect for exploring St Ives while being just far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience could really use some improvement. While breakfast had decent sausages and bacon, the menu was quite limited, and I’d honestly recommend eating out at one of the many lovely places nearby.
Facilities
6.0
Basic facilities with the hotel seemingly prioritizing the grounds over the rooms. I hope they can revamp the accommodations to match the beautiful exterior.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The location is perfect for relaxing while still being close to St Ives, but some areas need more attention. The rooms were spacious but came with some maintenance issues. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made my stay more pleasant, but the dining experience could use some improvement.

The facilities seemed well-maintained overall, but I did expect a bit more in terms of amenities.

6.4/10

The hotel has a lovely location and offers amazing views of St Ives Bay, but the rooms are a bit small and dated, making it a mixed experience overall. The service left something to be desired, as I encountered issues with staff communication regarding my booking. However, the proximity to beautiful woodland walks and the beach is a definite plus.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were small and a bit old-fashioned, but they were clean and had modern bathrooms with stunning views of St Ives Bay.
Service
5.0
The service was quite disappointing; the staff seemed moody and not very accommodating regarding my request for a sea view, which made the experience feel less welcoming.
Location
8.0
The location of the hotel is excellent, hidden away with lovely woodland walks, but the road crossing to the beach can be dangerous.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was quite chaotic, with long queues for everything, but the buffet was good and regularly replenished.

The hotel is located in a strategic spot that's close to the town center and offers a path directly to the beach, which is a major plus. However, while I enjoyed a lovely sea view from my room, the decor felt a bit dated and impersonal, lacking warmth. The staff was friendly and attentive, making my stay pleasant, though the dining options could definitely use improvement in both quality and variety.

I had a comfortable stay at Premier Inn, although the rooms could use some improvements, especially in terms of storage. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, making the experience quite pleasant. The location is beautiful, but getting back from the beach was a bit of a trek. Overall, it's a decent value for the price, but don’t expect too much in terms of room amenities.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were nice, but mine didn't have a view and felt quite basic. There's very little storage space, just a small built-in wardrobe, which was a letdown. Also, there was no fridge and the instant coffee and tea facilities were pretty basic.

Location

While everything was extra, the dining staff were really helpful. The breakfast had a good selection, including a full English and fresh fruit, which I enjoyed quite a bit.

My stay was quite pleasant overall! The location was excellent, making it easy to walk to both the beaches and the town. The room was spacious and comfortable, but I was disappointed to find that it didn't mention being designed for disabled access during booking. The service was first-rate, with staff always polite and helpful. On the downside, the dining experience was subpar due to slow service and limited breakfast options. All in all, a good value for money, with a lovely and friendly atmosphere.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, which was a nice change from other historical hotels I've visited. The service from the staff was excellent, especially the housekeepers who always greeted us by name. However, the breakfast left a bit to be desired, and the location was decent, though not perfect. Overall, it was a great value for the money.
